The challenges we face....

I just recently had a wonderful blessing visiting my in-laws in florida! It was so much fun but presented some pretty serious dieting challenges. I didn't find organic fruits and veggies while I was there so I had to settle for what I found there.

I had no way to cook so everything I ate was bought out and brought in....this was frustrating because I had to guess at ingredients and you guessed it....I fell victim to eating both sugar and gluten!

I felt so bloated and nauseous one day I actually had to lay down. Well I am more determined than ever to LIVE WELL. I was so happy to be home(even though we had tons of fun!) because I know where to find all the things on my plan here. I have my vitamix and I can cook! I will know EXACTLY what is in everything that passes my lips. I m looking forward to cleansing my body with good ol' Northwest organic produce this week!

The Results so Far....One Month on Living Well Plan.

Wow! These are real results folks. I have not even fully integrated into the Living Well Plan because I am nursing and really don't want to lose weight too fast and endanger my baby by releasing too many toxins or having breast milk devoid of nutrients.

This plan truly works and I have tried many things in the past.

One thing I am noticing is how dependent weight loss is on hydration. My weight can up or down as much as 4lbs in a day depending on how hydrated I am. It seems as though drinking more actually help lose more weight. This is not intuitive for most folks but it is true. So go get yourself a water bottle you like and keep it filled....and drink as much as you can.

If you have no underlying health conditions that limit water consumption a general guideline is 1/2 your body weight in ounces per day. In other words if you weigh 200lbs you need 100oz of water/day. When you are eating a diet high in water-rich vegetables you may need less than this....eating a standard American diet you may even need more! You can check with your doctor for a better estimate of what is good for you specifically.

Drinking only 5-8 glasses of water a day is more than most people so start there if you can! Always strive for clean, filtered water.

My goals going forward is to lose a minimum of .5-1 lb/week and a maximum of 2.5 lb/week on average. I want to weigh 200lbs by May or June at the latest!
